Self-Esteem
When a person recieves a criminal charge, whether guilty or innocent, the lengthy procedure through the criminal justice system
plummets their self-esteem, from the day of the arrest, untill the case is disposed of.
When I get a call from a person charged with a crime, one of the first
things I listen for is the tone of their voice as they explain the
circumstances that led up to the charge filed against them. If, I
perceive severe depression and low self-esteem, I try to discuss it
with my caller, if they wish. Why? Because I believe depression and low
self-esteem can inhibit our ability to make good choices and decisions.
Many people are so devastated by what led up to the criminal charges
that they've given up on themselves and others. They feel as if there
is no way to fix their problem.
After working with Mr. Behler for years, I've seen him help thousands
of people get back on their feet and reconstruct their life. He always
gives good legal and personal advice. When a case is disposed of, I
feel confident that each person has been educated and counseled as to,
why the criminal charges were made in the first place, and how to make
sure it never happens again.
I am not an attorney nor a psychologist, I am a secretary and a fellow
human being. I have suffered from low self-esteem before in my own life
and know how detrimental it can be to a person, which is why I feel it
and important issue to discuss with our clients.
Sincerely,
Virginia
